Adam LinfordHe is CTO of Voxygen, UK, a communications provider that delivers innovative products into Mobile Network Operators around the world. He has been trying to solve communication problems with software for 20 years, actively involved in SER-OpenSER-Kamailio along the project evolution.
Alan DuricHe is the CTO and co-founder of Wire, a new communication service for mobiles and web leveraging WebRTC technologies and offering end to end encryption. In the past, he co-founded Telio Holding ASA (formerly Telio Telecom AS, Oslo stock Exchange: TELIO) in 2004, one of the first large commercial deployments of SIP Express Router (SER), and served as its Chief Technology Officer. Alan is an early pioneer of VoIP with over 15 years of active contribution in multi modal communications, through his software development and standardization work (as a co-author and/or contributor to number of IETF, ETSI and ITU standards). As a developer and senior systems architect at Ericsson, he took part in the early deployment and development of the world’s largest VoIP networks such as deltathree. At Global IP Sound (creators of Skype´s audio), Alan was Senior Systems Architect, where he steered standardization efforts and was responsible for iLBC (internet Low Bitrate Codec), an IETF and CableLabs standard codec for VoIP. Alan is also Co-founder of Sonorit/Camino networks and was Director of its Board of Directors from its inception until it was acquired by eBay/Skype. Currently serves as Director of Sipfoundry.org BoD and is an advisor to a number of industry companies and financial institutions in M&A processes. |
Alexandr DubovikovHe is employed as Senior Voice Engineer for QSC AG, one of the major German voice and data providers. Alexandr holds a diploma in physics of Odessa State University. He has 20 years of experience in telecommunication techniques and has contributed to many OpenSource projects like FeeeSwitch, SER, Kamailio, SEMS, Asterisk, SIPP, Wireshark. Alexandr is the main developer of Homer SIP Capture project. He is also founder of IRC RusNet Network, one of the biggest national IRC networks in the world. |
Alex BalashovHe is principal of Evariste Systems, an Atlanta-based consultancy specializing in open-source focused SIP service delivery solutions for wholesale and retail ITSPs and competitive carriers (CLECs). Alex is a member of Kamailio project management board, involved in application development and community engagement. |
Andreas GranigHe holds a degree in IT/IT-Marketing from University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria. He is involved in VoIP development since 2000 and later co-founded Sipwise, a company dedicated to provide highly available and scalable SIP soft-switch appliances based on open-source building blocks like Kamailio and SEMS for medium to large-size ISPs/ITSPs. A well know product released by Sipwise is the SIP:Provider IP telephony platform. Andreas is member of management board of Kamailio project. |
Andrei Pelinescu-OnciulHe is the developer that wrote the first lines of code for SIP Express Router (SER – the ancestor of Kamailio) back in 2001, at Fraunhofer Fokus Institute, where Andrei was a researcher in network communications. He was the developer and maintainer for many of the core components such as memory manager, native atomic operations, locking manager, asynchronous transport layer, configuration file language and interpreter, as well as important modules such as tls, sctp, tm or textops. Andrei has always been a big proponent of performance optimisations and scalability, never hesitating to replace a critical pice of code with a better sequence of assembler. |
Carsten BockHe is a member of the development and management teams of Kamailio project and founder of “ng-voice GmbH“, a company with focus on providing consulting services about Voice, IMS and Open-Source. Previously, he was working for Telefonica Germany in Verl & Hamburg on the deployment and operation of the new IMS-platform at Telefonica. He was among the leading technologists to develop and provide the first IP telephony solution as a real analog line replacement for Telefonica/O2 in Germany. Carsten has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences of Hamburg, Germany. |
Dan Christian BogosHe is the founder of ITsysCOM, experienced communications architect and VoIP specialist. Dan is a double graduate of Politechnica University, Timisoara, with post-graduate specialization in Communication Protocols and Software Development. For the past couple of years, he has focused mainly on Cloud Computing Technologies interoperability, subject of his PhD thesis research. A frequent and well-known contributor to the Open Source community, most noticeably being the co-founder of CGRateS Project, Dan is a firm believer in merging the very best production-ready software to create high-quality, scalable and cost-effective communications solutions. |
Daniel-Constantin MierlaHe co-founded Kamailio in June 2005, aiming to build a solid SIP server project where openness to community and contributions has an important role, previously being core developer of SIP Express Router (SER) from its early beginning in 2002. He has a Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Polytechnics University of Bucharest. His experience was accumulated working as consultant for Orange Romania, branch of French Orange mobile operator, and researcher in network communications at Fraunhofer Fokus Institute, Berlin, Germany. His activity is done at Asipto, a company targeting to offer and build reliable services and solutions that benefit at maximum from Kamailio’s flexibility and features, sharing knowledge and expertise via professional trainings and consultancy. Daniel is leading the development of the Kamailio project and he is member of its management board. |
Dorgham SisalemHe was the head of Mobis department at Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute, the group of researchers and developers that initiated the SIP Express Router (SER) project back in 2001. Dorgham has a PhD in engineering from Technical University of Berlin and along the years he has been teaching there various real time communications courses. Currently he is Director Strategic Architecture at Tekelec (a company acquired by Oracle), where he arrived after founding IptelOrg company and selling it to Tekelec several years ago. |
Dragos VingarzanHe is a founder of Core Network Dynamics and the Chief of Engineering. Dragos is the software architect and developer behind the original OpenEPC as well as its hardened OpenEPC++ version, implementing the core platform as well as major functional elements. In the past he has been setting the foundation stones of today’s NGNs, by his activities in the telecom industry turning to all-IP concepts, being also the mastermind behind the Open Source IMS Core project. Today Dragos is splitting his time between bringing OpenEPC out from test-bed environments into the real-world highly customized telecom deployments and leading a group of 20+ researchers at Fraunhofer FOKUS into prototype the next upcoming Open5GCore project. |
Elena-Ramona ModroiuShe is a co-founder of Kamailio project, being also member of its management board. Her involvement in VoIP started by joining SER (SIP Express Router) in the spring of 2003, just after several months since the project was publicly released. She became one of the most active contributors, with key modules like avpops, diameter support, pdt, speeddial, uac, xlog. Elana-Ramona has a Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Polytechnics University of Bucharest, Romania, completing the studies at Politechnics University of Valencia, Spain, and Fraunhofer Fokus Institute, Berlin, Germany. Nowadays she works as VoIP and Kamailio consultant at ASIPTO, focusing on innovative solutions and integration of SIP and VoIP with web2.0. She manages Siremis Project – an open source web admin application for Kamailio – and has authored many tutorials about the Kamailio project, including Devel Guide, Pseudo-Variables Cookbook or Radius Integration. |
Federico CabidduHe is Senior VoIP Developer and the Scrum Master of Libon project, an OTT service from Orange Vallee, the innovation division of the French mobile operator Orange. Graduated in Electronic Engineering at University of Cagliari, Italy, in 2001, Federico has been working since then in VoIP, using mainly open source solutions and particularly Kamailio (SER or OpenSER) since 2006. Among recent contributions is the tsilo module, which allows dynamic branch creation for pending calls waiting for device registration upon push notifications in mobile networks. |
Francisco Valentin VinagreroHe joined the Communication Systems group of CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) IT department in 2013, being engaged in design, development and maintenance of next generation telephony system for the organization, which involve many well known open source projects, in order to allow the flexibility and provide the privacy required nowadays for real time communications. Previously, he worked as a core network engineer for Huawei and Telefonica International Wholesale Services, among other Spanish operators. He has a Master degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valladolid. |
Giacomo VaccaHe designs, develops and maintains RTC platforms with Open Source applications since 2001. Throughout the years he’s been using Kamailio as a core component of fixed, mobile and WebRTC services, working among others with Truphone and Libon (Orange). Often seen at the edge between Development and Operations, founded RTCSoft, a consultancy company, in 2015. |
James BodyHe is the Head of Research and Development at Truphone, being nominated in 2007 among the top 20 Influencers in VoIP by VoIP news. James is well known a source of new, disruptive and innovative thinking is the telecomms space. Luckily, he managed to put these and a number of other disruptive skills to good use as a Regular officer in the British Army. Following 20 years service in the British Army, where he graduated with degrees in Electronic Engineering and Design of Information Systems, he became involved in the pioneering of UK based VoIP, setting up SIPCall and Gossiptel, leading UK SIP<>PSTN services. A founding member of the UK Internet Telephony Providers Association, he has consistently been involved with getting things done at the cutting edge of the European VoIP community. As Research Director at Truphone, he is responsible for new and exciting technologies, ranging from the handset back into the PSTN. An enthusiastic supporter of Open Source software, he sponsors the development and rapid deployment of some of the leading telecommunications applications. |
Jiri KuthanHe is director at Oracle Communications, arriving via acquisition of Tekelec, where is was AVP of Engineering. Previously, Jiri was founder and CTO of IptelOrg, the company that provided commercial services for SIP Express Router (SER). IptelOrg was acquired by Tekelec in 2015. Historically, he had been with FhG Fokus Institute, part of the initial team working to build SER, graduated from the University of Salzburg back in 1998. Jiri has been supervising students at TUB and CVUT, most of them later joining the industry after graduation and working successfully on VoIP. |
Lorenzo ManganiHe is founder of Amsterdam based QXIP BV, Co-Founder and Developer of HOMER / SIPCAPTURE Project and voice specialist of the NTOP Team. Formerly a Sound Engineer, Lorenzo has been deeply involved with telecommunications and VoIP for well over a decade and has contributed ideas, design concepts and code to many voice-related Open-Source and commercial projects specializing in active and passive monitoring solutions with his team. Currently he is Sr. Voice Engineer and Designer for the largest international cable operator worldwide, Liberty Global (the owner of UPC cable operators across many countries in Europe). |
Lorenzo MinieroHe is the chairman and co-founder of Meetecho, a company providing both consultancy services and communication platforms. He got is degree and Ph.D at the Computer Science Department at the University of Napoli Federico II, where he started working on multimedia conferencing and met the colleagues with whom he co-founded Meetecho as an academic spin-off. He is an active contributor to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standardization activities, especially in the framework of real-time multimedia applications. He is most known as the author of the Janus WebRTC Gateway, an open source WebRTC server-side implementation. |
Marius-Iulian CoriciHe is Deputy Director of Next Generation Network Infrastructures (NGNI) competence center of Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute, where he joined as a researcher in 2005. Currently Marius coordinates the activity of 5G and FUSECO playgrounds. His research work includes multiple patent applications submitted in the area of IP network architectures and multiple publications in the area of Next Generation Mobile Networks in collaboration with various industry partners. Marius holds a PhD in Computer Science from Technical University of Berlin. |
Mathias PasquayHe is the co-founder and CEO of pascom Netzwerktechnik, Germany, with over 10 years experience in the delivery of integrated systems based on open source software. A software developer at heart, Mathias was instrumental in the creation of pascom’s Asterisk based MobyDick VoIP PBX, which provides a user friendly and feature rich Business Communications platform. Although, his role as founder and CEO sees Mathias having an active role across all aspects of pascom’s business activities, he is core to MobyDick’s ongoing development. |
Matt JordanHe is Director of Technology at Digium, and the project lead for Asterisk. Matt joined the team in 2011, and since then has been involved in the development of both Asterisk and the Asterisk Test Suite. His background in software development can best be described as “eclectic”, having worked in a variety of industries. Uniting the various experiences, however, is a firm belief in good software development practices and methodologies and the effect they have on producing quality software (and keeping software developers from going insane). |
Matthew HodgsonHe is the technical co-founder of Matrix.org: an early-stage not-for-profit open source project focused on solving the problem of fragmentation in current Chat, VoIP and IoT technologies. By defining a new lightweight pragmatic open standard for federation/interoperability and releasing open source reference implementations, Matrix is creating a new ecosystem that makes open real-time-communication as universal and interoperable as email. Matthew juggles Matrix.org with running the Unified Communications line of business within Amdocs (formerly MX Telecom), where he has been building IP telephony solutions for 12 years. He has a degree in Computer Science and Physics from the University of Cambridge. |
Mira GeorgievaShe is the president of of Zoiper, one of the pioneers in building softphone applications, among the first with SIP and IAX support from early 2000s. Zoiper is now available on all major desktop and mobile platforms, such as Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, Android, iOS and Windows Mobile. Mira has a master in Economy, and has been with the Zoiper team for the past 9 years, previously as head of marketing and sales, and now serving as the Zoiper president. |
Nir SimionovichHe is the founder of GreenfieldTech, a company with focus on open source telephony. As an open source integration expert and evangelist, Nir Simionovich has delivered memorable conference speeches and participated in panels in many parts of the world. These include North America, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, the Far East, Africa and, of course, Israel – where Nir is Based. He is a professional Asterisk application and platforms developer with a flare for platform development in various fields. He is also an established author, having written two books about Asterisk. |
Olle E. JohanssonHe is the CEO Edvina AB, Sweden and has more than 25 years of experience in the Unix and networking business, with ten years of VoIP experience. He is an Asterisk and Kamailio developer, trainer and consultant. The focus is on building large scale customized platforms for carriers, call centers and enterprises. Olle is also an advisor to many startups. After 25 years with IPv4 networking, he is also a strong advocate of IPv6 migration, being an active member and contributor to SIP Forum and IETF. |
Pawel KuzakHe is a core developer of the VoIP infrastructure and Backend Development team at 1&1 Germany, responsible for developing and maintaining one of the world’s largest Kamailio installations, providing a carrier grade telephony service to more than 9 millions connected phones. In 2011 he acquired his diploma in Computer Science with focus on parallel programming and telematics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. |
Randy ResnickHe is the producer of VoIP Users Conference (aka VUC). VUC is a weekly live discussion about VoIP, SIP and all kinds of telephony-related topics. The conference has been running for nearly six years, happening every Friday at 12:00 noon US Eastern Time. Many Kamailio developers are frequent participants at VUC, several of them were invited guests in the past, presenting the project and typical use cases. |
Sandro GauciHe is a security researcher, penetration tester and owner of Enable Security company. Sandro is the author of SIPVicious suite, a set of tools that can be used to audit SIP based VoIP systems, providing the famous SIP scanning tool also known as Friendly-Scanner. His daily activity involves simulating attacks, researching the security or lack of it for products and services. |
Sebastian DammHe is working at sipgate, one of the first and largest SIP providers in Germany and across Europe. Sebastian graduated Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany, and he is involved in SIP since 2006, with direct experience in managing a platform with several hundreds of thousands active users, being also an active member of Kamailio community. |
Sebastian SchumannHe is working at immmr, a company created by Deutsche Telekom, in the area of network design and architecture. Sebastian is responsible for the carrier integration of immmr, exposure and evolution of the platform, as well as the support of the product and business unit. Prior to his work at immmr Sebastian was an expert within the innovation department of Slovak Telekom, a.s., where he led and contributed to the design of large technology projects (RCS, IMS, VoLTE) as well as pioneered in building competence and developing services in the area of WebRTC from the ground. His lead expertise is the evolution of communication services and convergence of IP-based Telco platforms and approaches (incl. the evolution of legacy equipment & services). He is a long-time advocate of the vision of alternative strategies for operators to better meet actual market needs. |
Simon WoodheadHe is founder and Managing Director of Simwood eSMS Limited, a wholesale VoIP enabler. Simwood operates a national UK IP network, VoIP stack and SS7 interconnects, all of which can be leveraged by customers using its leading API. In 1996 Simwood developed ‘eSMS’, the world’s first global gateway between the Internet and Mobile phones, enabling cross-network SMS and SMS<>e-mail. Prior to that Simon worked in finance and was the youngest qualified member of the Securities Institute at the time and through subsequent start-ups was named Barclay’s Young Business Person of the Year. No longer young he combines commercial experience with deep technical knowledge and brings a unique perspective to today’s challenges. Outside of work he has been a Mountain Rescue Team member for over 10 years and played a part in hundreds of incidents, rounding his outlook on life and shaping his approach to leadership. |
Thomas Magedanz, Prof. Dr.He is professor of the chair for Next Generation Networks (AV – Architektur der Vermittlungsknoten in German) in the electrical engineering and computer sciences faculty of the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, where he is educating masters and PhD students in the fields of multimedia Service Delivery Platform technologies on top of converging fixed and mobile networks, Next Generation Networks, and the Future Internet. In addition, he leads the Next Generation Network Infrastructures (NGNI) Competence Center at Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS in Berlin, Germany, where he is responsible for the performance of major international R&D co-operations and related projects in the context of next generation telecommunications infrastructures. In this context he is a globally recognized pioneer of the development and delivery of advanced network and service technology testbeds and related software tools in the fields of Next Generation Networks and the emerging Future Internet for both academia and industry. Well known examples include the Open IMS Playground and the Open SOA Telco Playground. |
Werner EriksenHe is VP Communication Services at Telenor Comoyo AS (Telenor Digital), where they are focusing on building next generation platforms and services from inside of one of the biggest European Telecom and Mobile operators. With a career in real time communications that started back in 1993, Werner held various senior and management positions in engineering, among them VP Engineering at Telio and Senior System Architect at Ericsson. |
William KingHe is one of the core developers of FreeSwitch, the open source SIP softswitch and media server project. William is a graduate of University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in the fields of Business-Entrepreneurship, Computer Science and Engineering. He joined the FreeSwitch in 2008, helping since then the development of the project and assisting companies to build and tailor real time communications systems. |
